Fedora 23 is out.

A lot of it is largely security and major infrastructure changes. [1]
The hardening change [1a], switching the default Fedora system
software to Python 3 [1b] and the new, standard, 2-week Atomic Host
release cycle (maintained by Red Hat's team) [1c] and the related move
to containerize more service roles [1d] were the primary
announcements.

But one big desktop item is Cinnamon [2b] (GNOME 3 Clutter w/the
Muffin fork of Shell's Mutter WM) being back to being a full,
first-class citizen. It's no longer just in the default repos, but is
now back to being an official, standalone "spin." [2a]

NOTE: Cinnamon has long been hosted by the LinuxMint project. [A]

In any case, the stock, default Fedora repos now have seven (7)
desktops, the default being:
1) GNOME Shell (GTK+ Clutter/Mutter), including "Classic" mode

Plus the six (6), additional and official spins [2] that are
self-contained (no other desktop installed).
2) Cinnamon (GTK+ Clutter/Muffin)
3) MATE (legacy GTK+ Metacity)
4) XFCE (GTK+)
5) LXDE (GTK+)
6) KDE Plasma (Qt)
7) SOAS (fka Sugar)

As always, this status means the desktop is a primary desktop,
standalone (via spin) or can be installed with_out_ any conflicts. No
3rd party or partner repos required. Any bugs are Fedora bugs handled
in the distro just like it is a GNOME Shell or KDE Plasma bug.

Fedora also continues to release the various "labs." [3]
E.g., In addition to the LXDE spin, I also carry the "Security Lab"
with me at all times, on bootable USB. [3a]

As always, "ask" (Q&A) [4a], documentation [4b], forum [4c], magazine
[4d], mailing lists [4e], wiki [4f] and many other avenues are
available.

**Still a leftover from when Red Hat Linux 10 Rawhide/Beta/Release
became Fedora Core 1 Devel/Test/Release, and still hasn't moved.
Search for "fedora" to find the Fedora lists.
